Borneo

B is for Borneo

Sarawak, Borneo (7246481956)

Ok, I know absolutely nothing about Borneo. Until recently I didn't realise the island was split between three different countries, Brunei, Malaysia and Indonesia. Borneo came to my attention when I was a child, and didn't think about those things. All I knew was, I watched a programme called "The Really Wild Show" with Michaela Strachan, and there was a section about orangutans. I just thought they looked like the cutest, sweetest things and as soon as I heard they were endangered I knew that one day I would go and volunteer with them, as I mentioned in my interview over at A Southern Gypsy.

I continuously look at the Great Orangutan Project's website, I think I want to volunteer for 14 days there. It's on my "One day when I eventually make it to Asia list", which I have yet to talk about on this blog. I don't know a lot about what I want to do yet, apart from volunteer with Orang Utans, but once I start trip planning, I'm sure I will work it out.

Have you been to Borneo? Have you got any tips for me?

  2. Hi there, found your blog through the AtoZ challenge, Borneo looks amazing, I can see why you'd want to visit. I'm not someone who gets the wanderlust, I'm more of a home bird, but I can travel vicariously through those who do :)
