Sunny Days at Ham Hill; a Photo Essay #SundayTraveler

Ham Hill Country Park is a short car ride away from my home, and it is the perfect place to spend the sunny bank holiday weekend.

I can take my dog, Tiger, and he can go for a run around away from the road, and we can meander to the War Memorial where you can see across the Mendips, Blackdown's and Quantock Hills as well as the Dorset Downs. Ham Hill is a geological site, a scheduled ancient monument, iron age hillfort, roman site, and nature reserve. It is super popular on sunny days for walks around the old quarry, and with mountain bikers in the now grassy hollows. On top of all those things there is an awesome pub that you can sit outside of with your dog (and about 30 other people's dogs) and chill with some cider in the sunshine.

Me, drinking a delicious pear cider

The grassy hollows where Tiger runs up and down, kids play, and mountain bikers ride.

My happy baby, Tiger Hooligan.

  2. What a great place to let your dog roam around. It reminds me of a recent post I just wrote about Fort Funston near San Francisco... minus that delicious looking pear cider. :)
