Sunshine in England

On the very odd occasion, it's sunny in the UK. And it's on day's like that it's worth hitting the beach! Just to prove that the sunshine does exist here are some instagram shots from my trips to the Dorset coastline over the past couple of weeks. All these shots were taken in Bournemouth and Weymouth.

Enjoying a Friday beer with glorious blue skies on the Brewer's Quay side of Weymouth

On the way to Bournemouth, there seems to be little estuary's and harbours for small boats right the way down to the coastline.

If England looked like this all the time there would be no need to venture further afield (aside from satisfying my own wanderlust). Breakfast by the beach in my new favourite café, Urban Reef.

Another food stop, this time in Weymouth for my Mum's birthday. We watched boats, and people go by, and laughed at people with sunburn, who did not end up being us at all!

I'll leave you with a shot of the beach, at Weymouth. The cool sea waters being the only thing that have refreshed my aching feet in ages! We realised whilst walking along here how lucky we are to have such easy access to a beach, a mere 40 minute train ride and we're there! We watched as a little girl in hysterics ran into the water, right up to her waist, having never been in the sea before, she must've been around 10 years old. She laughed her head off (until she realised the bottom of her t-shirt was wet)!

Is sunshine in your country blogworthy like it is here in the UK? What beaches do you visit when you get the chance?

  1. I live in the Pacific Northwest so we get a lot of rain and snow. But when the sunshine is out - we race for the outdoors!

    1. Yes, as do we! I was showing my current boss some photo's of what it is like when it rains here today- kind of turns into a super miserable looking Venice, without the gondola's.

  2. I live in the UK as well, but in the North East. I've never been to Bournemouth yet and I really want to venture down to Devon especially when we get sporadic bursts of sunshine. It was nice the other week and I went to Whitby (I've blogged about it), and it was absolutely jam-packed because it was a weekend and sunny. I wish we had nice weather all of the time too!

    1. Oh, I haven't been to Whitby but I really want to go. It sounds pretty there. My friend said, after we went to York, our next trip should be Whitby haha.
