I'm ending this series of Foto Friday with my favourite place, Lake Bled. Somewhere I hope to get back to in the near future!

Losin' My Sh*t

One of my favourite things about Lapland? Security, or lack, thereof. Why was there no security? Why should there be? Less than 300 people live in the border town we lived in. Everyone knows each other, it's perfectly normal to open the front door and let yourself into your friends homes. Which meant, we had no front door keys.

It. Was. Heaven.

Foto Friday: John Lennon Wall

Image
Far from my favourite place, Prague is home to one of my favourite site's, The John Lennon Wall. Other friends have been since, and I know the above is no longer there, which saddens me! It was beautiful when I saw the wall, and I hope it continues to change and evolve.

My name is SJ, and I am an Aussie who moved to Croatia with my Croatian husband and son to live a more chilled relaxed life. In the process I started a blog, Chasing the Donkey, about being an expat, and expanded to travel blogging as we travel so much it's nice to share what I find with people.

What I've Learned from a Year Travel Blogging

Image
A year ago I started a course with Amanda from A Dangerous Business, the course was Travel Blogging 101*. Before that I had no idea about how to go about travel blogging, all I knew was I really like to write and I really like to travel. Now, I know there is so much more to travel blogging than that; here are a few things I've learned in the past year.

Foto Friday: Thingvellir National Park

Looking over the edge of the American tectonic plate and across the mid Atlantic rift is enough to make anyone feel small, and really realise the power of nature. Such an incredible place to visit.

14 Photos to Sum Up 2014

Image
You never know what a year's going to turn out like, do you?

2014 certainly didn't turn out the way I expected. I had plans to have an awesome summer, which I did. Yet I didn't expect my world to change beyond recognition the way it has. I didn't know I'd celebrate New Year in the Baltics, or what would take me there, or that I'd be sat in a hostel in Poland writing this post. I didn't realise this time last year that in just a few months time I would be leaving my job, and taking one that sent me to Lapland. I didn't realise my style of travel was about to change big time (but that's for another post).
So this is how 2014 turned out:
My first trip abroad wasn't until May when Joyce and I visited our friend Kathy in Berlin

Foto Friday: Zagreb

St. Mark's church in Zagreb boasts the most gorgeous roof I've ever seen. Must remember to get back to Zagreb as soon as possible!

1. For those who don't know you, introduce yourselves and your blog
We are Justin and Lauren and our travel blog is called Justin Plus Lauren. We are a couple who lives in Canada and we are part-time travelers, working full time jobs here and traveling as much as possible. We love outdoor adventures with activities such as hiking, snorkeling, biking, and we even tried whitewater rafting and surfing recently! Justin and I are both vegans, meaning that we consume a diet without any animal products. This can be a challenge at times when we travel, but I'm always able to find great food for us to eat!

Foto Friday: York

The stunning view from the rooftop of York Minster, on a clear day (on the other side of the rooftop, you can see as far as Scotland, apparently).
