I’m Marc Smith, Chief Adventurer at 30 Day Adventures. 30 Days is a travel, lifestyle and adventure blog that celebrates a new theme every 6 weeks and it explores it in 30 posts. For example 30 Days In Hawaii is a 6 week 30 post series exploring Where to Stay, Where to Eat & Drink and What to Do while vacationing on the Islands of Hawaii.

Do You Eat Alone in Restaurants When You Travel?

Image
A couple of weeks ago I opened this article (because I absolutely do not spend half my life procrastinating on Buzzfeed) with trepidation. Already geared up to comment that eating alone isn't an obstacle you need to worry about when travelling. You need to eat, so why deny yourself some local culinary delights over some crap take away? Instead I was pleasantly surprised that the article had a good take on eating alone, in spite of having to correct a couple of serving staff.

Life Without Sunlight in the Arctic.

Life in The North is something you cannot even begin to fathom until you live it. Work routines that mean some days you work barely four hours, some days almost 20, and almost constantly through the darkness. The constant sparkling white snow that looks like glitter has been sprinkled through it making the tiny split town look like a real Winter Wonderland.

Becoming Part of the Magic in Diagon Alley

Written by Ashley Hubbard of A Southern Gypsy
To say I’m a Harry Potter fanatic would be an understatement.  In 2010, I made the trip down to Universal Studios a mere two months into the grand opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park.  In 2012, I made a special side trip during my Europe trip to spend my birthday at the Harry Potter Studio Tour in Leavesden, UK.   And, in 2014, I made not one but two trips down to Orlando again that included the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  The first being in January before they had opened up the expansion and the second being in October after the expansion had been open for a few months.

Nothing Better than the Northern Lights.

I live in the wrong part of the country, well actually I live in the wrong country entirely, but for now we shall go with I live in the wrong part of the country. Did you see what happened Tuesday night? In Scotland, Cumbria, Wales & even Gloucestershire? Yep, you've got it the Northern Lights were doing a dance
And where was I?

Hi everyone, I write under the pen name of “The Guy” or even “The Guy Who Flies”. I've been travel blogging for just over 2 years now at my site called Flights And Frustration. I also run a second site which is nothing about me but is all about Travel Bloggers. It is appropriately named Travel Blogger Interviews.

Finding the Real Broadchurch

Living where I do, we don't often expect to bump into celebrity's or see TV or film crew's taking up our parking spaces. In fact, we're often surprised, here in Dorset, when people know that we're here. In spite of the fact that the London 2012 Olympic Sailing was held just 26 miles from where I live, our area is not well known at all.

Love in Lapland, or How My Travel Style is Changing.

Image
Female Solo Traveller.

That's how I've described myself on this blog for the past year or so. That's how I travel, by myself. I'm independent, or selfish- I like to be able to do my own thing. I'm fairly introverted, tho' I like meeting new people (just let me take time for a quiet nap, alone, for a while mmkay?). When I travel I either book through a company like Busabout, or I just go for it like I did with Spain 2013 and my Baltic Adventure earlier in the year. Or I'll go and get a job that'll change my life more than I knew when I accepted it.

That's where my story starts, I guess. Back in Lapland.

I’m a born explorer and adventurer I guess, something I get from my Dad. As long as I can remember I’ve had a yearning to see the world, learn more about its peoples, languages and cultures. I think it comes from growing up on a farm in the middle of nowhere. I’m all about setting out for random adventures, getting lost in a city and so on. Some of my fondest travel memories grew from such randomness. My blog, www.highsocietyhobo.com, is about those random moments (though I haven’t had a lot of them lately), overcoming travel challenges and also LGBT travel. Not LGBT travel as in sexploration, gay pride parties and gay cruises – there are already several great blogs out there that cover that kind of stuff if you’r…

24 Reasons You Should Never Live in Lapland

Lapland, a region stretching across 4 countries, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Russia. Why ever would you want to go there?

It's not like the white snow glitters all the time

How I Got from Rovaniemi to Berlin

Image
My Lapland contract finished at the tail end of December and whilst, for many reasons, I was gutted to be moving on. I also knew I was about to embark on an awesome adventure. As you've seen in my last few posts, I had a great time visiting the Baltics, Poland and Germany, so here's my itinerary, and the one thing I would change.

Can you believe it's March already?

What the hell guys? Where has this year gone? Seriously? I was partying in Estonia for New Year like five minutes ago, and in 3 days time I turn 27. Where is this year going?
