Traveller Tuesday with Dannielle from While I'm Young and Skinny

Each Tuesday from now on I'll be hosting interviews with other travel bloggers, to help you discover more blogs and even more inspiration to travel. If you want to be part of this series please contact me.

1.       For those who don’t know you, introduce yourself and your blog

I'm Dannielle, the girl behind While I'm Young and Skinny. It's a UK based travel & lifestyle blog where I recount my adventures around the globe and offer tips and inspiration to other curious young things. My blog is all about trying to do everything on your bucket list while you're still young enough to get away with it!

2.       Are you a light packer or an overpacker, what one thing won’t you leave the house without?

When I went on my first backpacking trip to New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia; I massively overpacked. Now, I'm a lot less high maintenance and know I don't really need those emergency snacks - they have food all over the world. I'd never go on a trip without my camera or travel journal, though. It's important to record those moments that blow your mind!

3.       Do you plan trips or just go with the flow?

I like to have a route in mind if I'm under time constraints and want to pack loads in. I've learned that when you're travelling in a place as laid back as South East Asia, plans tend to go out the window - and I've also realised that's a good thing!

4.       Where has been your favourite place to visit to date?

I think New Zealand will always hold a special place in my heart. The scenery, the lifestyle and the wine - there's nowhere else like New Zealand!

5.       Is there anywhere you don’t want to go?

Nope. Never say never.

6.       What is the most important item on your “Bucket List”, or if you don’t have one what one place or thing don’t you want to miss out?

I really want to eat pizza in Italy. I've never been but I just know it would be my ideal destination.

7.       What is the best experience you’ve had whilst traveling?

I was lucky enough to spend three days on a catamaran cruising Australia's heavenly Whitsunday Islands, and it was the most surreal adventure I've ever been on. Sleeping under a blanket of stars on the deck of the boat was just incredible, and I got to swim on Whitehaven Beach, which was out of this world.

8.       What tip would you give other traveller’s?

Go with the flow. It's all part of the adventure!

9.       If you had to choose one place to live forever, where would it be and why?

I spent four years studying in Edinburgh, and to me it's the most beautiful city in the world. Everywhere you look in the Scottish capital you see culture. It's just a shame about the weather!

10.   What’s next for you…

Now that I've graduated and work full time, I fit travel around my career - I want While I'm Young and Skinny to prove that you don't have to choose between seeing the world and having a career. I have lots of weekend trips in Europe planned, and I'm going to Cuba later this year, which I'm really excited about!
